Liberty Head Gold...

The genuine, Liberty head U.S. gold coins were first minted in 1838, into the Civil War Era and the Wild West Frontier Days of the late 1800’s.

Liberty gold coins were carried in the pockets of Abraham Lincoln, Wild Bill Hickok, Thomas Edison, and settlers in wagon trains headed to the California Gold Rush.

These are the gold coins outlaws Jesse James, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were holding up trains and robbing banks to get.

Scarce, U.S. Gold from the 1800’s
Today, historic Liberty gold coins are scarce, highly prized and seldom seen outside of museums or private collections. Most are held in investment portfolios for their timeless beauty, historic value, pure gold content and long-term profit potential.

While gold coins were very popular in the 1800’s, only a tiny fraction of the original mintages survive today. Unfortunately, the soft faces of 90% pure gold coins wore down quickly in circulation. Over time, most were destroyed by the mint.

Millions Melted Down in Great Depression
Then in 1933, the remaining gold coins were recalled from U.S. citizens to the Treasury. Millions were then melted down into gold bars to pay debts during the Great Depression.

Today, it’s a blessing that any 100-year-old gold coins survive at all. Due to the high demand by collectors on the limited supply, many U.S. Rare Coins have proven to be superb performing long-term financial assets since 1970. We believe they will serve you well both as a core holding of gold and as a starter collection of 19th Century gold coins.
